A manager meets with his new vendor team and partners and proposes golf on Friday afternoon. Without giving it much thought, the manager schedules the event even though a female colleague cannot attend. He just assumes that a sporting event will appeal to everyone and inadvertently sends the message that the excluded colleague's participation is not valued or important.
