Language in the Lab

Conflict occurs when co-workers speak different languages in their lab. Questions to ask learners: Why do you think the co-worker is tense and upset? (Because she is thinking they are talking about her) What simple steps could the co-workers take to minimize conflict and tension? (They could include the co-worker in their conversation or tell her they intend to speak Russian as they're discussing their weekend.)
